We described 2022 as the year of uncertainty and 2023 as the year of resilience. Looking back a bit, 2020 and 2021 were no less turbulent. After years of continuous adaptation and seeking new paths, how could we summarize 2024 in one word?

Recently, we realized just how long it has been—nine years—since the release of the completely rewritten, Symfony-based version of Drupal. Since then, a lot has happened, and it took nearly a decade for the persistent efforts of the community to bear fruit.

<p>I love my job, the people I work with every day and the way we work. Yet after a month, 3000 kilometres from the office, I realised that I was probably on the verge of burnout.</p>

We want to attract competent people to the team. Competence builds trust, and the more competent someone is, the faster they can build trust. 

We have completed 25 sprints and more than 4800 issues covering around 15,000 story points. We spent at least 10,000 hours in online meetings and worked on 23 projects, out of which five accounted for 50% of our income

Due to the Covid situation, our last year was like we had pulled the handbrake a year and a half ago. Now it had to be released and we needed to step on the gas again so that the ambitions retained so far could come back to the front, and our people could find their goals and energies again. We needed to experience again that there is change, there is development.

Twig templates of Drupal 8 makes our life much easier when we want to customize the HTML output. But when the goal is to change a Drupal 8 menu we have to use the menu.html.twig template which is not the most friendly one and it’s customization can be tricky. That's I wanna show you how I did it.

Hello 2015 — we wish a happy new year for all of you. Well, we shouldn’t hurry that much ahead… Before getting to 2015, let’s see how we were getting things done last year.

If you wonder that I call myself this name you have not seen Dries’s Amsterdam keynote yet probably. Being “George” means to be an active contributor of Drupal. And being a mentor is a special case of contributing when you help others become “George”. That is what I did first time at DrupalCon Amsterdam.

Our trip to Amsterdam started really exciting. We bumped into a traffic jam caused by a car crash, that we could hardly leave so we almost delayed the check-in at the airport... Luckily we reached the flight, the engine was turned on and we sank into the seat while we were flying towards the sky. I was thinking about what to expect from this year’s Drupalcon.

More than seven years have passed since I first met the Drupal phenomenon. I remember we used version 4.7, and barely two dozens people received Dries at one of the CEU buildings. Looking at this with corporate eyes back then, it seemed somewhat an immature but stirring assembly. However, the essence of this thing has been in the air already. I also felt on the occasion of last year’s Drupalcon in Prague and this year Drupalaton: the sweeping power of the community.
