Things to remember from 2020

Award-winning works from an extraordinary year

Az Év Honlapja Díjátadó Roadshow

The Hungarian Marketing Association organizes the "Website of the Year" competition, the most prestigious online marketing communications profession event. In 2020, the annual competition received a record 289 entries. We did our bit to break this record, and we were delighted to win awards for five projects! Here is a summary of the winning projects:

Géza Csáth kaleidoscope - Special Award in the Creative Solutions of the Year category

The website commissioned by the Museum of Literature is a perfect example of when creativity can create a whole new, unusual experience in the digital space. The Kaleidoscope site is an exciting artistic mix where visitors can create and share a sound mix of their reading using the melodies, noises, and noises assigned to each word of the short stories.

With each new job opportunity, we survey who is interested in the topic and a team based on a vote. Those involved in the development of Kaleidoscope include a mix of librarians, philosophers, psychologists, and computer scientists with a passion for literature.

Few people may think it, but writing code is an art, and well-written code is a joy to read!

"As you shuffle the sounds like this, like shaking colored papers or bottles in a kaleidoscope, suddenly a chord, a melody fragment, a rhythm hits your ear." Article about the background work:https://magyarmuzeumok.hu/.../kaleidoszkop-a-pim-es-az...

Hungarian National Museum - Special Prize in the Culture category

Flexibility and adaptability were particularly valued in 2020. In this respect, it is the perfect textbook example of how a museum should respond to changing circumstances. The site itself is under continuous development to present the museum's diverse activities according to current requirements. As a result, when it became clear in March last year that the museum would have to close overnight, the website adapted in no time to the changing needs: it became the leading platform for communicating institutional knowledge during the epidemic.

The front page has been redesigned, and virtual exhibitions have been added to the exhibitions section. Continuous improvements are also aimed at linking the multiple contents resulting from the institution's complexity. Thus, when you look at the description of an exhibition, you can immediately see the related guided tours, museum education sessions, news, and publications. Educators who are forced to teach digitally can find more than 160 resources and museum education platforms on the museum's website. Still, visitors interested in science can also browse the National Museum's thematic blog and vlog posts.

The National Museum's website is also a great place to learn about the museum's work.

Képmás Magazine - Special Prize in the Media category

It's always a special task when an offline format moves into the online space! There was no shortage of inspiration and challenge in the design of the online interface for Képmás Magazine. We have created a timeless, classically edited, and paginated online magazine that is an absolute pleasure to read while offering rich audiovisual and textual content to its target audience.

We focused on essential background functions such as ad space administration while restructuring the content and shaping the mobile presence. With Képmás, we have (also) built a project and partnership characterized by conscious planning, collaborative thinking, continuous renewal, and dynamic development.

Stageshop - e-commerce category Quality Award

The Stageshop is a mecca for guitar enthusiasts. With sophisticated photos and detailed product descriptions on the site, beginners and advanced players alike can find the instrument of their dreams. With the physical and online shop fully coordinated (product synchronisation, stock management), and online sales supported by professional marketing communications, Stageshop Guitar Specialists emerged from 2020 a clear winner and a stronger business.

Ybl Buda Creative House - Special Award in the Event Category

The revamped website presents the programmes of the Ybl Buda Creative House with varied content from month to month, and during the pandemic it attracted attention with its spectacular "Virtual Exhibitions" concept. Thanks to this, while the exhibitions and the beautiful building of the institution are not physically accessible due to the virus, the virtual exhibitions available on the website give visitors a taste of what is on offer.
