As a fresh graduate, I sent my CV to many places. Sometimes I was called for an interview but was always rejected due to lack of experience. I ended up at a marketing firm in Kecskemét, but after a couple of months, I decided to move on.
When I came across Integral Vision's job advertisement, I immediately knew that this was the place where I wanted to work. Although I submitted my CV, I never imagined of getting called for an interview. I was confident that I was out of the league; nevertheless, I hit Enter.
The next day when I went to work, I hardly remembered what had happened the day before. My surprise was quite understandable when the phone rang, and it was not my mother! I answered. Kulcsi called me to invite me for an interview. I was shocked. I thought it must be a dream. At the same time, I was thrilled.
Before IV, I did not have a decent workplace. Of course, I had some occasional jobs as a student, the kind of tiring and monotonous stuff no-one likes. I did not have real work experience except for some unique logo and website projects, but that was all.
After I arrived at Integral Vision, my life turned upside down. I faced new challenges every day that I wanted to overcome. I moved to Budapest, started to use MAC, Sketch, GIT, and other unique programs the first time in my life. I was eager to learn how to use them. At the same time, I wanted to be a member of a reserved team, which was not an easy task.
My first place was next to Istvan's desk, and then I joined Szilárd, Vince, Ancsa, and Tomi in the darkroom. The office was silent; all you could hear was the sound of keyboards and mice, something extraordinary compared to the busy noises of the university.
I discovered many things on my own. That Slack is an excellent tool and also the easiest way to get an answer from your colleagues. That you can bring the receipt for the fruits, you buy on Fruit Day. And last but not least, I realized that Asrob and Peti are the same people.
I gained many great experiences in the last 12 months. I had my first client demo with MNM. In the beginning, I was worried because I had no idea what to expect. I thought it would be similar to the end-of-semester presentations, which always put massive pressure on me. Luckily I couldn't have been more wrong. The support I got from Zsuzsi and David and the kindness of the MNM colleagues gave me a sense of security so we could end the demo feeling content and confident. Since then, I have participated in a lot of client meetings and demos, which have become regular elements of the sprints.
My first projects were Vanilin and Speakerhub, followed by PIM Virtual, MBFSZ, E-mobi, and many more. However, what I enjoy the most is when I can give lovely little stickers to my colleagues for Santa Claus or Women's Day.
I also learned that the best way I can connect with people is by lunchtime when we can freely chat about everything.
I like it when I order sushi with Zsuzsi and David, and the bargain begins: 'Look, Zsani! Do you want to change food?' or 'are you finishing that one'?
I have been working at Integral Vision for more than a year. I enjoy that the projects I'm working on make sense. I learned a lot about design from Szilárd and Anita, and without BT, I could barely know what "position: absolute" and "relative" means.
I am grateful that my colleagues are interested, in my opinion, and I can add something to the democracy we built in the company. I can't wait to see what awaits us in the future.
