That's how I ended up in Brasov at the faculty of Civil Engineering. I was supposed to learn about concrete, but I preferred Jung instead. I failed my first semester. I was happy that I left university, the scholarship, and so my future career at my father's company. I could finally follow my path.
Joining and quitting have become a part of my life, both in a personal and a professional sense. Eight years ago, when we launched Integral Vision, the focus issue was what will make joining people feel comfortable in the company. It has occupied me ever since. How can an atmosphere be created where participants do not have to deviate from their path to stay in the community? When will the point come when it is worth moving on in another environment?
Surely we all consider the issue of going or staying differently. Depending on social status, character, and personal goals, the importance of salary, environment, and perspectives might vary. Nonetheless, five questions might be worth taking into consideration, although some might be important to one and less important to another. I would like to go into detail regarding these five aspects. I am planning to write one article per each and publish them in the next two months.
How do I feel at work?
It is a tough one. What is my dominant mood at work? Any difference when I'm at home? Or when I'm with friends? What affects my mood? Anything I can do to change it? Or does my mood depend on the environment? What positive emotions should I get from my workplace?
Can I immerse myself in work?
How can I get more flow experiences? Should I improve myself in any area? How can we create a safe environment where I can work on my issues without being interrupted?
Is my work valuable?
What values are important to me? How can I tell if a project or an issue is valuable or not? Can I decide what kind of projects I work on?
How is the team?
How are my relationships? Some strong or more superficial? How do I get feedback from others about my work? How do I give feedback to others? What kind of communication culture characterizes the community? How open is the communication? Is there chemistry with others?
Do I have ground for growth?
Can I improve my efficiency? Has my productivity increased in recent years? Do I choose the tasks myself, or does someone else signals to me? Do I decide the rhythm of performance myself, or do I have to adjust to the expectations of others? Do I measure my performance against others or myself?
