Challenge

A searchable database of sermons

The initial idea was for each pastor’s complete body of work to be available on a dedicated website. However, with sustainability in mind, the concept of a shared backend system was born—one that has since far exceeded its original goals. Crossing congregational and denominational boundaries, it now provides easily searchable content for community members, researchers, practicing preachers, theologians, and Bible readers alike. Integral Vision has been a committed partner in the initiative from the very beginning.

Solution

A constantly expanding database and features

To ensure comprehensive searchability, all materials were uploaded to a single portal.

Content management is handled by a Drupal backend, while dedicated websites accessible through unique URLs, along with the main lelkesz.com platform are delivered through a Vue.js application.

Users can search the texts using various parameters, including names, dates, keywords, or specific search terms. Additionally, searches can be filtered by Scripture references, liturgical seasons, or pastors' names, with some sermons even available for listening via the built-in media player.

Congregations are integrated as separate entities within the system, allowing users to filter sermons accordingly. Furthermore, lelkesz.com’s search, listing, and reading functionalities can be embedded into individual congregational websites, narrowing searches to relevant content specific to each congregation.
