Challenge

Making the collection and services accessible

The museum's mission can be summarized as follows: professionalism in the research, collection, presentation, and promotion of contemporary art; openness to new ideas and perspectives; diversity in the artists, artworks, programs, and related art forms presented; and a proactive role in identifying new partners, collaborations, and supporters.

The aim was to design the website to align with these values and goals while fulfilling the functions of a classic museum website, utilizing data available in the collection management system.

Solution

Integrating the collection into a modern yet easily navigable system

In line with the museum's values and goals, the design of the website focused on creating a platform that is easily navigable and accessible for visitors, professionals, users of museum education services, and both young and older audiences. At the same time, innovative and engaging structural and visual solutions were boldly incorporated.

Beyond showcasing the institution's services, one of the project’s main challenges was integrating with the collection management system.

Thousands of metadata entries related to artworks are synchronized between the two systems.

This integration allows users to search the database while museum staff manage the information exclusively within the collection management system.
