Zoli

“I accept the challenge!”

I was lost in a task when Istvan interrupted me:

“Zoli, couldn’t you just teach Ingrid to open the door?” I didn’t understand this question more than anyone, who is reading this just for the first time. I woke up, and my next thought was that I don’t even want to know more at this stage. I realized that a request had been drawn up for me so I dashed off a short sentence: “Ok, just raise an issue!”, and got back to my task.

Later on I managed to put together the pieces: all this happened on a day, when Aniko, who is responsible for welcoming our guests, was out of office. A record number of visitors found right that day appropriate to visit our office. Istvan realized how hard this work is, particularly the 'stand up from our place and walk to the door' part, especially when you sit the farthest from the entrance. So on one of his ways to the door, our bot giraffe – Ingrid - must have come to his mind, which was named after our corporate ex-giraffe. And he got a great idea: let’s teach Ingrid to open the door!

A few days later I found this issue, and the fun-factor and challenge value reached my inducement level. I became so much engaged that already on the next demo day I demonstrated how we give the command and listened with bated breath to hear the noise from the magnet lock of the entrance door. It clicked for the first time on that day, and according to the counter another 1243 times since then.
