Increasing the online focus on the work-centric approach in literature interpretation

Irodalmi Magazin (Literary Magazine) is a richly illustrated thematic periodical designed to promote classical fiction. Each issue is organized around a topic, a literary person or a cultural phenomenon, exploring its depth and complexity through a set of essays, critical articles and reviews.

Challenge
The magazine did not have a website before, so it was built from the ground up to make educational materials available for teachers and students. We had to consider that this website had to use the same backend as the Publisher’s own website and webshop since we did not want to focus on the end users only.
We wanted to simplify the editors' work as well by optimizing their internal processes through a shared CMS for the two websites.

Solution
Both structure and design had to be adapted to the publisher house’s other website while each had to represent their own mission, values and audience. Content of the Literature Magazine is organized around events, periodicals and authors and we made some content available only to registered users.
Besides building an online presence for the magazine, the most important benefit of the website is that subscribers now have access to both print and online copies.
As an added benefit of the website renewal, we merged the Literary Magazine's website with the publishing company's site into a single CMS, significantly improving internal processes.
