Challenge

Making qualitative research data searchable, downloadable, and comparable

At the end of 2020 - after a successful launch of their new website -, the European Center for Not-for-Profit Law reached out to us to help them restructure and redesign the website of the CSO Meter project. The current website had lots of usability issues and they did not really figure out how to make their findings accessible and comparable. They were about to adjust their methodology to reflect the lessons learned from the practical implementation and address the latest trends.

The new website had to go live in February 2021 but this process only finished at the end of that year so we needed to ensure flexibility to easily align the website with new standards and concepts without another major investment.

Solution

Visual and structural renewal for scalability

We had a lot of discussion with ECNL’s team to understand their experience they gained during the first 3 years of the project and help them formulate their long term objectives as accurately as it was possible in the beginning of a methodological reform involving organizations in many different countries.

We made the qualitative research findings easily searchable, downloadable and also comparable by country, year and area and also gave a fresh and energetic look to the website.

With a tailored import functionality, we significantly reduced the time to upload data when new yearly reports become available. And in the end, introducing new areas, standards and a scoring system to the website in the beginning of 2022 was a very smooth and cost-effective process.
