Bringing the New Design Vision to Life
The French Institute of Hungary is one of the oldest foreign cultural institutions in Budapest. Serving as a hub for educational, academic, scientific, and cultural collaboration, the Institute plays a key role in showcasing the strong ties between Hungary and France.
Challenge
Translating a global visual identity into a local, user-focused digital experience
As part of the global network of French cultural centers, it operates under the authority of France’s Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Its main partner, the French Institute in Paris, defines the visual identity guidelines for the entire network.
Our task was to implement the updated visual identity while enhancing the user experience and introducing new features that align with modern expectations.
Solution
Creating a cohesive, future-proof website that unites design, usability, and functionality
Guided by the new design charter, our main focus was to implement the visual direction in the most ergonomic and user-friendly way possible. We conducted a series of interviews with different departments within the French Institute to gain insight into their internal workflows and specific needs.
A key priority was optimizing the language school’s application process — streamlining administration for content managers while integrating the system with the existing student records database. We also made sure the solution laid the groundwork for future development.
On the front end, we rethought the user experience to ensure that applicants for language exams and courses could easily find relevant information without getting lost in the details.
At the same time, the website needed to clearly present the Institute’s cultural and educational programs — offering an accessible overview of upcoming events and a broader perspective on its ongoing collaborations.
